80% of all immunological cells that detect harmful external pathogens are located in the intestines.
There are also billions of bacteria active in the intestines.
These bacteria are called the intestinal flora.
Intestinal flora plays a crucial role in the regulation of the immune system.
For a properly functioning immune system, a healthy intestinal flora is indispensable.
A horse with a good resistance is less prone to all kinds of infections and will also recover faster if he does get sick.
All of Florian’s roughage mixes support good intestinal flora by offering a balanced variety of fiber.
In addition, we use a variety of functional ingredients in our roughage mixes, muesli ‘s and primal chunks that protect the horse’s sensitive digestive system.
For example, with substances that buffer gastric acid, substances that lay a protective layer on the mucosa of the stomach and intestines and substances that regulate glucose absorption in the small intestine.
